Soar with summer CTE/STEAM!
Programs set for Umpqua Valley Expanding Horizons CTE Summer Camps
Dates have been set for Umpqua Valley Expanding Horizons Summer Camps! Douglas County middle school and high school students who enroll will be immersed in activities that align with Career & Technical Education programs of study in our high schools and at Umpqua Community College.
We’re spreading the word throughout May as part of our campaign to celebrate STEAM Month in Douglas County #STEMWeekOregon.
All camps include a career skills component developed in partnership with Umpqua Training and Employment. Each also features post-high school education in partnership with UCC. All camps are free and open to students across Douglas County, except for the AHEC High School Academy Camp, high school academy camp, open to students already participating in the Bright Works after-school programs or classes. They are funded through a two-year grant distributed by the Umpqua Valley STEAM Hub.
These are dynamic, multi-faceted opportunities for local students to get current information about and hands-on experience in the skills needed in fields with steady job growth. As such, they align with the mission of Douglas County Partners for Student Success #DCEdMatters.
Here are details for camps offered through the following organizers. Registration information appears at the bottom of the article.
