Who?
Douglas County Partners for Student Success (DCPSS) was initiated with funding from The Oregon Community Foundation as a result of an initial partnership between the Greater Douglas United Way, The Partnership for Economic Development in Douglas County, The Ford Family Foundation, Douglas ESD and Umpqua Community College.
The initial focus was to build a deeper understanding of the current culture in Douglas County that supports student entry into post-secondary education with the intent to compel action for improvement. This project was founded on the belief that a collective, county-wide, cross-sector effort can achieve systemic change that individual efforts alone, cannot. Led by a steering committee of a diverse cross-section of leaders from across Douglas County, DCPSS is reaching out to all community leaders and organizations to positively impact the educational and future lives of children cradle to career resulting in improved community vitality.
