Meet employers at career expo
Students can quiz business, nonprofit leaders at annual jobs fair
March 16 is an important date for students who want to pursue jobs and careers right here in the Umpqua Valley. That’s because the 2016 Employer & Career Expo is taking place Wednesday, March 16, in the Conference Hall at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.
Admission is free, and the Expo’s opening 90-minute segment is set aside for students. From 9:30 to 11 a.m., students can meet with business and nonprofit representatives to find out what kind of job or volunteer opportunities will help them gain experience in the workforce. Employers will also discuss what kind of training or education is needed for those jobs. About 40 booths were set up at least year’s event, which promoters say drew more than 500 attendees.
The Employer & Career Expo is organized by the Oregon Employer Council Douglas County. Plan to attend and take steps to your future! Questions? Contact Rheanna Mosier at 541-673-3200 or send email to oec.douglas@gmail.com.
