Applications accepted for Diagnosis Day-Trauma Day
Bright Works Oregon Healthcare Team presents program to help students explore health care careers
Students interested in exploring health care careers are invited to apply for Diagnosis Day-Trauma Day, taking place Saturday, April 11, at Mercy Medical Center, 2700 N.W. Stewart Parkway, Roseburg.
Diagnosis Day offers each student a chance to follow a mock trauma patient throughout the day and to interact with a variety of health care providers who will talk the student through his or her role in the patient’s treatment.
Forty students will be accepted into the day’s program, which is presented by the Bright Works Oregon Healthcare Team, a project of Area Health Education Center of Southwest Oregon. The day is organized as a means of helping students to get behind the scenes and evaluate health care as a career path.
Applications will be accepted from students ages 14 through 18 who are Douglas County residents. Applications are due March 16; participants will be notified by March 18.
To apply, two steps are required:
First, fill out the base application HERE.
Second, complete a bio-sketch. A template will be sent to you after you have filled out the base application. You can also receive the template by sending email to rzoellner@healthyoregon.com or anakbrar@gmail.com.
