creative spark
The Umpqua Valley Arts Association is hosting Creating Connection, a daylong seminar and workshop illustrating the power of arts and culture to enrich lives. Participants will learn how to integrate Creating Connection techniques into their messages and programs.
The training will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 9 at the Umpqua Valley Arts Center, 1624 Harvard Ave., Roseburg. Reservations are required by June 3. Admission is free.
Creating Connection is a national initiative designed to advance the position of arts and culture as a recognized and valued part of everyday life. The training is geared toward executives, communication staff members and program leaders. Participants may bring samples of ads, programs, social media posts, annual letters or other projects for practicing Creating Connection principles in small group settings.
Creating Connection fits the DCPSS mission in part by highlighting the “A” in STEAM. This represents the artistic innovation and creative impulses that integrate STEM disciplines.
