STEAM Hub Plans Fair Activities
The Umpqua Valley STEAM Hub, an initiative of Douglas County Partners for Student Success, will offer an array of children’s activities and information for families at the Douglas County Fair, taking place Aug. 5-8 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds south of Roseburg.
Our 10×10 booth in Douglas Hall will have a story corner with books, carpet squares and a cozy adult chair. There will be a robotics section, a “Say it your #selfie #DCEdMatters or #PromiseOR” photo corner, and plenty of information about the many options available to start planning a dynamic career.
The STEAM Hub focuses on sparking interest in science, technology, engineering, artistic innovation and design and mathematics – all areas forecasted for strong job growth in the coming decade and beyond. Douglas County Partners for Student Success aims to pull our entire community together around the idea that by working collectively, we can improve the lives of every Douglas County child and enhance our community’s vitality.
