DCPSS is seeking contributing writers for this site!
We’re looking for partners, educators, community members, parents and students to share their thoughts on education in Douglas County.
We want to hear your thoughts on what’s working, what’s not, what’s missing and which programs have a model we should all strive to follow and copy here in Douglas County.
The ideal web post length* will be between 350 and 600 words, but longer is acceptable. Already have written material from your organization or your own personal platform (blog, column, etc.)? Great! That makes it easy and we’ll make note or link to the original publication.
Contact our communications contractor from our partners at the Douglas Education Service District and get your author rights on www.dcpss.org.
All submissions will be copy edited for grammar and to ensure content stays on topic and relevant to our stated goals and mission. Remember, our mission is to support students from cradle to career — which means it’s a pretty wide open range of topics you could choose.
Where does your passion lie right now? Is it early education, prenatal and infant development, transition grade school years, middle school development, career exploration, high school enrichment, gap year high school/college graduates, undecided college students, or high school grads with no plan?
You decide. The sky’s the limit!
So what’s on your mind?
Email lead communications specialist DD Bixby at the Douglas ESD to get started. You can reach her at dd.bixby@douglasesd.k12.or.us.
*Would you rather do a voice recording or a video? Awesome. We love multimedia! So click your phone into selfie-mode and hit record! Not that kind of media? Well, surprise us!
More of a doer than a talker? We need those too. So if you’ve got education-related events for children and young adults in our county, add events to www.dcpss.org via the submission page. No website author rights needed, just click HERE to add your event to the DCPSS website.
We added this option to our website because partners wanted a clearinghouse for youth and education-related events.
Contact us today, about writing or to submit your event. We want to add your voice to our maelstrom of support for students in Douglas County!
